Northumberland County Council is giving residents, schools, community groups, town and parish councils and businesses the opportunity to obtain a free tree or tree pack to plant on your land as part of our commitment to tackling climate change.
By completing this online application, you will be reserving an individual tree sapling or sapling pack to plant on your property.
There are two tree species available for small, medium and large sized gardens, as well as small planter-based shrubs available for those with limited garden space, balconies or rented properties.
Depending on which size of garden you pick, the choices are : For Small gardens - Crab Apple or Holly. For Medium gardens - Rowan or Silver Birch. For Large gardens - English Oak or Wild Cherry.
Schools, community groups, town and parish councils and businesses can order hedge, copse or native harvest packs of up to 120 saplings.
You will be required to book a collection date for your sapling. We are running collection points across Northumberland during November and December,
with the first collection week running from Monday 11th - Saturday 16th November 2024 and the second collection week running from Monday 9th - Saturday 14th December 2024.
Confirmation of your collection details will be communicated during the week commencing Monday 28th October 2024 for the first collection week
and confirmation of your collection details will be communicated during the week commencing Monday 25th November 2024 for the second collection week.
Please do not attend a collection point without this confirmation email.
The trees are small cell grown plants, sourced from the UK and will be provided with a biodegradable tree shelter guard, cane and planting and care instructions.
